Melania Trump's Twitter account likes post mocking her marriage with Donald Trump

New York: In a faux pas, US First Lady Melania Trump's personal Twitter page liked a tweet that showed the viral image of her quickly dropping a smile at her husband's inauguration as soon as he turned away.

The tweet sparked a social media stir.

Her personal and verified page -- not the account she inherited as the President's wife -- liked the tweet, "Seems the only #wall @realDonaldTrump's built is the one between him and @Flotus."

Left-wing blogger Andy Ostroy penned the original tweet at 9:15 pm yesterday, alluding to President Donald Trump's proposed border wall with Mexico, the New York Daily News reported.

The Twitter post included an animated image of Melania's beaming smile she flashed for the president, but quickly reduced to a scowl as he turned away during the January inauguration.

Ostroy later said he did not believe Trump's account was real. By 10:45 pm, her account unliked the tweet in question.

It was only the second tweet the first lady's currently- inactive personal account had liked.

Its last tweet was on November 8 last year, the day of the US Presidential Election, and featured an image of a "Vote #TrumpPence16" badge. Its other "liked" tweet was its own first message, a simple "Hello Twitter!" in 2012.

The Twitterati, however, had a field day over the post.

"We have a glimpse of what her life must be like," one person said.

"Melania liking this tweet just might be the best trolling of 2017 so far," said another netizen.

It was not clear if Melania actually liked the tweet herself, or if the account was hacked.
