Former Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh Premchand Guddu on Friday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

Former Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh Premchand Guddu on Friday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the assembly elections in the state. 

Guddu joined the BJP in presence of Kailash Vijayvargiya, news agency ANI reported. 

In 2009, Guddu was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Ujjain Lok Sabha constituency from Madhya Pradesh.

He was also a member of Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly for two terms. 

Earlier on Friday, BJP had released the first list of 177 candidates for Madhya Pradesh. 

The BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) held a long meeting at the party headquarter in New Delhi on Thursday in a bid to finalise the names of contesting candidates.

Polls to the 230-member MP Assembly house will be held on November 28 while the results will be announced on December 11.
