Bollywood actors keep their garages fancy and full of beefy badges. The recent addition to the B-Town is a Mercedes-Benz GLE luxury SUV, which has found home in the garage of celebrity couple Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar. The couple has bought the SUV in a shade of black, and it has a starting on-road price of Rs 1.04 crore and tops out at Rs 1.24 crore. Talking of ex-showroom prices, the base-spec trim is priced from Rs 88 lakh, ex-showroom. However, other trims have an ex-showroom price of over Rs 1 Crore. Also, the SUV is sold in a coupe avatar as well.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE sits in between the GLS and GLC SUV in the company's global line-up. The GLE is on sale with three engine options. First one on the list is a 4-cylinder diesel engine belting out 245 Hp against 500 Nm as its peak output. Next is a 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces a peak power output of 330 Hp and 700 Nm of max torque.
The petrol power plant is a 360 Hp unit, which produces 500 Nm of max torque. The GLE comes with a top speed of 250 kmph. All of these engine options come with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Also, there’s an AWD 4MATIC system available for the SUV.
The GLE comes with 4 paint options, namely Non-metallic Polar White, Metallic Cavansite Blue, Metallic Mojave Silver, and Metallic Obsidian Black. The GLE gets an MBUX system, comprising two 10.25-inch screens - one for the infotainment unit and another for instrument cluster. The SUV also comes with a 360-degree parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, blindspot detection, automatic climate control and more.
Talking of dimensions, sold in a long-wheelbase format, the Mercedes-Benz GLE is 4,924 mm long, 2,022 mm wide, and 1,772 mm tall. Furthermore, it has a wheelbase of 2,995 mm.
