DRDO introduces herbal drug for leucoderma

Tiruchirappalli: Lukoskin, a herbal drug developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation for leucoderma, has been introduced here.

Himself afflicted with the skin disorder, K Umapathy, Secretary, Leucoderma Awareness Movement India, an NGO, explained the application of the drug to patients who had gathered at the National college venue here last night.

The drug was evolved after a decade of research.

The application of drug, including a cream and a syrup (for consumption) will help the affected persons regain their normal skin colour in 300 to 400 days, Umapathy said. He said the Medicine will be introduced in all cities.

It was not a disease nor was it hereditary or contagious, he said.

The movement has planned to launch similar camps in all the districts.
