TRS chief, Purandeswari, Chiranjeevi kin file papers

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, CPI Deputy General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy, Union Minister D Purandeswari, actor-politician Chiranjeevi`s brother-in-law Allu Aravind who filed their nominations.

Hyderabad, March 30: TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao,
CPI Deputy General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy, Union Minister
D Purandeswari, actor-politician Chiranjeevi`s brother-in-law
Allu Aravind were among the prominent personalities who filed
their nominations for Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

The TRS President filed his nomination from
Mahabubnagar, while film actress Vijayasanthi submitted her
nomination papers for Medak Lok Sabha seat as the TRS
candidate. Sudhakar Reddy filed his papers from his
traditional Nalgonda seat.

Purandeswari, daughter of TDP founder N T Rama Rao,
filed her nominations from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha
constituency. She represented Bapatla seat in the outgoing Lok
Sabha which has now become a reserved seat.

Aravind, a General Secretary of Praja Rajyam, is the
party candidate from Anakapalle Lok Sabha seat in coastal
Andhra.

Today was the last day to file nominations for the
first phase of polling on April 16, and the day witnessed a
heavy rush of candidates submitting their papers.

Till last reports came in from various districts, as
many as 334 Lok Sabha nominees and 2,699 Assembly candidates
submitted their nominations for the first phase of polling,
Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao told reporters.

The scrutiny of nominations would take place tomorrow.

The Lok Sabha and Assembly are being held
simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh.
