The agony of Test series is finally over for India. They were not only beaten, they were actually thrashed, annihilated in the field by the Kangaroos. Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide -- the places changed, not the results. <br/><br/>The tri-series involving India, Australia and Sri Lanka has surely thrown up a fresh chance for them to salvage some lost pride. But is it possible to win after the debacle in Tests?<br/><br/>There is hardly any doubt that India remain a very strong ODI side despite the drubbing in Tests. The current world champions can give any team a run for their money in limited-overs matches, especially in ODIs.<br/><br/>The fresh faces in the team will also help in brightening up an otherwise gloomy Indian dressing room. There will be no Rahul Dravid or VVS Laxman, players who are under tremendous pressure of losing their places in the Indian team. <br/> <br/> <br/><br/>Apart from Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, India have almost the same team which won the World Cup. <br/><br/>In the batting department, India look very good on paper, though, India look little vulnerable at the top with both Sehwag and Gambhir remain awfully out-of-form. <br/><br/>Sehwag’s last ODI exploit was a record-breaking 219. But after the harrowing experiences in Tests, it will be very difficult for him to play well in ODIs. His supposed ‘tension’ with captain Dhoni also adds to his awful form. <br/><br/>Nothing better can be said of Gautam Gambhir. His current form is also a thing to worry about. The way he was exposed by the Australian fast bowlers in Tests must have shattered his confidence. <br/><br/>Sachin Tendulkar, who is still in search for his elusive hundred, looked good in Tests but has failed to play any substantial innings. <br/><br/>The middle-order looked good with Virat Kohli coming up with a fantastic ton in the last Test at Adelaide. He, apart from pace sensation Umesh Yadav, was the only saving grace in the entire Test series. Rohit Sharma is also in good form while Manoj Tiwary seems to be finally getting into the groove. He scored a fine century against the West Indies. And then there is Suresh Raina, who will definitely come to forefront again by playing his natural aggressive brand of cricket. <br/><br/>India have finally two good all-rounders in Ravindra Jadeja and comeback paceman Irfan Pathan, a luxury Dhoni will probably have for the first time in his career as captain. If India decide to go with both of them, they would certainly bat very deep, one of the most important aspects in ODIs. <br/><br/>Despite having suffered in Tests, when it comes to ODIs, Indian bowlers are not all that bad. Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar form a well-balanced pace attack while R Ashwin is a very good bowler with the white ball. <br/><br/>All in all, it is a very good opportunity for the Rainas, Rohits and the Manojs to stake their claims for the Test squad by performing well in the one-dayers.
