New Delhi: Popular faces from the showbiz world, Kay Kay Menon, Karan Singh Grover, Ravi Dubey and Kunaal Roy Kapur will be seen in '3 Dev'. The first poster of the film was unveiled a few days back and it has already courted a controversy.

The poster shows Karan Singh Grover, Ravi and Kunaal standing in front of the painting which has Hindu god trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. And classic actor Kay Kay Menon watches over them. The film also has a quirky tagline which reads, “Undercover Bhagwan”.

Well, the poster did generate a lot of buzz online but on the other hand, it has miffed Dharam Rakshak Mahamanch president, Ramesh Joshi. The way the photo of the Holy Trinity has been cropped and the actors have been made to stand in front of it has hurt the religious sentiments of people, reportedly.

Ramesh Joshi has expressed his displeasure over the way it has been projected in the poster. He has written a complaint letter regarding the same to the Censor Board, the director of the film, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, the Home Minister.

Here's a copy of the letter attached:

He said, “This kind of behaviour where filmmakers just to earn money hurt the sentiments of the people will not be tolerated. It is an insult to the Hindu Trideva. This is hurtful to the people who practice Hindu religion and pray to the god.

He added, “ In our complaint, we have asked the makers to withdraw the poster and remove any similar controversial content from the film which can hurt the feelings of the community. However, if they do not comply with our demands, we shall appeal in court.”

Meanwhile, Censor Board member Arjun Gupta too has expressed his shock over the release of the poster of '3 Dev'. He said that the Board should not have given a green signal to such a controversial film.

However, director Ankoosh Bhatt and distributer Ayub Khan have maintained that the film doesn't have any controversial element. The makers have stated that the film does not intend to hurt the sentiments of any particular community and the poster just has the painting of the Hindu trinity in the background.

“'3 Dev' is not a mythological film and is rather a contemporary one. It has a unique concept which shows in 2018 what is the need for the lord to actually come down on earth. It's a clean comedy venture. It does not intend to hurt anyone”, Ayub Khan said.
