Tiger Shroff-Disha Patani's Baaghi 2 gets biggest opening, beats Padmaavat

Tiger Shroff-Disha Patani starrer 'Baaghi 2', which received mixed reviews from the critics, has raked in Rs 25.10 crore on its opening day. As per a report, the film in on its way to becoming the biggest hits of the year.

Mumbai: Tiger Shroff-Disha Patani starrer 'Baaghi 2', which received mixed reviews from the critics, has raked in Rs 25.10 crore on its opening day. As per a report, the film in on its way to becoming the biggest hits of the year. 

The film boasts of the highest opening day collection, thus leaving behind Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat', 'PadMan', 'Raid' and 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety'. While Padmaavat collected Rs 19 crore on the first day, Baaghi 2 saw the highest opening ever of Rs 25.10 crore.  

According to a press release from its makers, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios' action entertainer "Baaghi 2" has received an overwhelming response from the viewers across India, including south markets, making it the highest opening film for Tiger. 

Sharing the figure, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "'Baaghi 2' sets the box office on fire. Takes a fantabulous, Earth shattering star...Emerges the biggest opener of 2018 (so far), surpassing Previews + one business of 'Padmaavat'... The numbers are an eye-opener." 

Several members of film fraternity have also hailed Tiger Shroff for the bumper opening the film received. Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Take a bow Tiger Shroff. Bollywood can proudly announce that we have our very own Tony Jaa in the industry. Your action is a force to be reckoned with..."

Hrithik Roshan also posted on Twitter saying, " Tiger Shroff, you'v done it. I'm now looking forward to working with the best action hero in the industry! Bravo! Keep flying high!"

"Baaghi 2" is helmed by Ahmed Khan and is a sequel to the 2016 film "Baaghi". The film also features Prateik Babbar, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda and Deepak Dobriyal.
