Nia Sharma takes a dig at Padmaavat protesters with cryptic tweet?

Mumbai: TV actress Nia Sharma, who had participated in the latest season of adventure reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi, took to Twitter Monday to post a cryptic tweet.

Though she doesn’t name anyone or a particular group, it looks likely that her tweet is aimed at those protesting against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which has been in the eye of storm ever since it went on floors last year.

She tweeted:

“How does someone just Convince an entire community to start riots and protests while I can’t even convince my 3 friends to hang out with me... #RandomThoughts (sic).”

For the unversed, Bhansali’s Padmaavat (previously titled Padmavati) starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, has been cleared for screening by the Central Board of Film Certification after much delay and aspersions.

The film which initially scheduled for release on December 1 last year will now hit the silverscreen on January 25 worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu besides 3D format.

The Supreme Court will on Tuesday hear a plea filed by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh government seeking modification in its earlier order to lift a ban on the controversial flick Padmaavat in the states.

The top court last week set aside the notification passed by the states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat to ban the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s directorial Padmaavat inspired by  16th-century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s epic Awadhi poem Padmavat.

Earlier, the apex court refused to entertain a plea filed by lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma, who claimed that the certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to Padmaavat was illegal.

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday announced that the state will abide by the Supreme Court orders on the controversial flick Padmaavat and provide security to the cinema halls that will screen the movie.
