Padmavati: Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer release postponed

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project – Padmavati – starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh was slated to hit the screen on November 17 this year. But the makers of the magnum opus have decided to postpone the release date.

The film reportedly based on one of the most captivating parts of Indian history will release in February next year, a DNA report suggests.

SLB wanted to release it as per schedule but owing to the ruckus created by a fringe group on the sets of the show on a couple of occasions and workers’ strike took has forced the producers to delay the film’s release.

Also, though a major chunk of the flick has been shot, some of the scenes featuring Ranveer Singh need to be completed. Moreover, the post-production will consume bulk of the time and hence the decision.

The film had landed in trouble owing to its content reportedly inspired by Rani Padmini, Rawal Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji.

The film happens to Shahid’s first venture with SLB while it is Ranveer and Deepika’s third project with the ace filmmaker.
