New Delhi: 'Sanju' baba has begun shooting for his upcoming film 'Kalank'. Directed by Abhishek Varman of '2 States' fame, the film brings together former rumoured couple Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. The movie also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapoor.  Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news.

He wrote- “Sanjay Dutt begins shooting for #Kalank today [18 June 2018]... Costars Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapoor... Abhishek Varman directs... 19 April 2019 release.”

Ever since the film was announced, rumour mills have been at work wondering if Sanjay and Madhuri would share screen space in it. For the unversed, the duo was rumoured to be dating many years ago. The two have worked together in a number of films and the list includes Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar, Sahibaan etc.

Speculations were rife that the two agreed to the film on the condition that they wouldn't share screen space. It was also being believed that Sanjay and Madhuri didn't even want to meet to discuss the film. But that's not the truth. Both Sanju Baba and Madhuri have let bygones be bygones.

Directed by Written by Shibani Bathija, 'Kalank' is reportedly set in the backdrop of India in the 1940s.
