Kochi: Aiming to boost sales, Japanese auto major Nissan will be doubling its dealer outlets to touch 300 in the country by next year and would be focussing on the domestic market for its newly launched Datsun GO+.

The company presently has 160 outlets in the country. Datsun India which launched its GO + brand in Kerala Monday, has plans to open 25-30 outlets by next year.

"In Kerala, where the focus is on quality of service and infrastructure, it is targetting to open 25-30 outlets in a year's time. The state has outlets in all 14 districts," Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India told reporters here.

Datsun India is opening up a whole new world of 'more' for Indian car buyers with the launch of Datsun GO+, the second offering in the country.

The new car has been competitively priced starting at Rs 3.86 lakh (ex-showroom Kochi) and will be available across Nissan and Datsun exclusive showrooms.

On sales target, Malhotra refused to give any numbers. "The Auto industry is like a test match. The first set of 2,000 customers need to be totally satisfied. We believe numbers will follow," he said.

There were no plans for exports as of the new car as of now, though gradually they could think of it, he said.
