New Delhi: BMW's next generation 7 series luxury limousine is all set to be uneviled on June 10 via a video teaser.
The German luxury auto-maker boasts a history of creating profound snazzy sedans, among which the G11 7 Series posses an evolutionary design competeing squarely with its luxury car segement players like Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
The 2016 7 Series will be the second BMW model to get Laser headlights with double-barrel detailing, the i8 having debuted the technology for the brand.
Other styling cues include LED daytime-running lights, with prominent chrome detailing.
The teaser video shows the ‘Carbon Core’ badge present on the new 7-er, highlighting its passenger cell which is constructed from carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), which in turn lead to weight savings of 130 kg.
The carbon body shall not only provide for a better weight distribution but also a superior ride and control.
To accentuate the tech element, a remote parking system, of an iDrive Touch Display infotainment system with gesture control technology has been added, thus, providing an effecient and smoother access and control.
Mechanically, the next 7 shall have a 460-horsepower V8 volume engine, and BMW will also offer the 7 with a 600-hp 6.6-liter V12 engine designed jointly with Rolls-Royce.
The BMW 7-series will go on sale internationally in the second half of the year. The India launch could happen sometime early 2016 though nothing is clear as yet.
