New Delhi: Ford India Monday reported 14.79 percent decline in total sales at 9,061 units for January.
It had sold 10,634 units in January 2014, Ford India said in a statement.
Ford's domestic sales declined marginally to 6,647 units last month as against 6,706 units a year ago, it added.
The company said exports during the month stood at 2,414 cars as compared to 3,928 units in January 2014.
Ford India Vice President (Marketing, Sales & Service) Anurag Mehrotra said: "The rollback of excise duty concessions has further contributed to the prevailing low consumer sentiment."
While the auto industry welcomed RBI's recent move to reduce interest rates, a lot more needs to be done to restore the sector on a growth trajectory, he said.
"We hope that the government will continue its pro- consumer, industry-friendly reform policy and introduce measures to boost demand in the upcoming budget," Mehrotra said.
