HMSI launches touring motorcycle priced up to Rs 31.5L

The bike is powered by a six-cylinder 1,832 cc engine.

New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Thursday launched touring motorcycle 'Gold Wing-GL1800' in the country, priced up to Rs 31.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The bike, which is powered by a six-cylinder 1,832 cc engine, comes loaded with various features including independently adjustable heated seats and foot-warming system.

"It was our customers' passion for adventure and travelling the open road that really defined the Gold Wing and has further, led us to introduce the same in India," HMSI President and CEO Keita Muramatsu said in a statement.

Ever since its introduction in 1975, Gold Wing has been the favourite of the touring enthusiasts across the world, he added.

The company has launched the bike in two variants. Gold Wing Audio Comfort is priced at Rs 28.5 lakh, while Gold Wing Airbag, which comes fitted with an airbag, is priced at Rs 31.5 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The bike comes with various features including a 6-speaker surround-sound system, combined braking system (CBS) and an anti lock braking system (ABS).

The touring bike also has electric reverse system which provides the ease of overall manoeuvring in tight spaces and parking areas.

The premium bike also features an electronic cruise-control system and has a luggage capacity of over 150 litres.

"We believe Gold Wing will further contribute to the remarkably rising touring culture in India," HMSI Vice President-Sales & Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said.
