Hyundai Grand i10 sedan coming to India soon?

As per reports the sedan will be showcased during the Delhi Auto Expo scheduled for February.

New Delhi: Stepping up competition to market leaders in the sedan category, Hyundai Motor is soon coming with the Grand i10 sedan, if market reports are to be believed.

The Grand i10 hatchback has garnered an overwhelming response and has been able to generate interest amidst the younger generation in metros and tier II cities, the company had earlier said.

The car purportedly will be pitted against Maruti Swift Dzire and Honda's Amaze, which are already doing very well in the sedan category.

The Grand i10 sedan will be powered by the same engine as its hatchback model. Under the hood, the petrol version will get the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit producing maximum power output of 82bhp and 114Nm of torque and diesel unit with 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder mill churning 70bhp and 160Nm.

Major changes will be seen in form of a spacious interior and a more stylish exterior. Reports are also doing the round that the sedan will be showcased during the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 scheduled for February.

Reports also suggest that the vehicle will be priced very competitively at Rs 5 lakh.

The Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback, sold over 33,000 units across India in September within just 90 days of its launch, making it one of the fastest selling cars in the country.
