Mercedes-Benz launches CLA 45 AMG at Rs 68.50 lakh

The performance coupe accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

New Delhi: Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India had unveiled the CLA 45 AMG at the Auto Expo 2014 held in Greater Noida this year.

Priced at Rs 68.50 lakhs, the CLA 45 is the cheapest AMG powered car in India. Targeted towards the youth, the CLA 45 AMG is India's first compact performance Sedan.

The CLA 45 AMG has high-tech specification which includes the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world as well as performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine, with a maximum output of 360 PS and up to 450 Newton metres of torque, making it the most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The performance coupe accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Recently the company said that it would start manufacturing at its second plant shortly, which would help the company double its production capacity in India.

The company's first own plant started production in the country in 2009 which has an installed capacity of 10,000 units per annum located at Chakan near Pune.

After completion of the second plant, the production capacity would be doubled to 20,000 units per annum.
