Toyota recalls 5,834 units of Corolla Altis diesel in India

The reason behind this recall is to replace a faulty component which fails to prevent oil from entering the air intake system.

New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recalled 5,834 units of Coralla Altis Diesel Model manufactured between June 15, 2010 and May 23, 2011.

The reason behind this recall is to replace a faulty component which fails to prevent oil from entering the air intake system.

Toyota will contact owners of the possibly affected vehicles directly and the repair will be done at authorized dealerships free of cost.

This is second recall of Toyota in November, a couple of weeks ago the company had issued recall of 119 units of its sedan Camry in India over a possible defect in the front suspension. It was part of the global recall of defected Toyota Camry.

In April, the company had recalled 44,989 units of multi-purpose vehicle Innova manufactured between February 2005 and December 2008 in India to rectify a faulty cable on the steering wheel.
