Car maker Volkswagen India on Wednesday inaugurated its IT support centre in India to cater to global operations.

New Delhi: Car maker Volkswagen India on Wednesday inaugurated its IT support centre in India to cater to global operations.

Volkswagen Group's IT Regional Competency Centre (RCC) at Hinjewadi Tech Park in Pune, catering to the global operations of all the brands of Volkswagen Group, is expected to bring in foreign revenue besides creating high value employment for IT professionals, the company said in a statement.

Volkswagen Group India Chief Representative Mahesh Kodumudi said: "With the RCC, Volkswagen Group India has taken the next step in expanding its operations in India...We will now also provide IT support to global locations through our centre and underline our belief in India with this long term commitment."

Volkswagen Group is represented by five passenger car brands -- Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen-- in India.
