Sensex erases all gains; slips into red zone

As Finance Minister Arun Jaitley continued his Budget speech, the stock market benchmark Sensex today erased all its early gains of over 300 points and slipped into negative territory.

Mumbai: As Finance Minister Arun Jaitley continued his Budget speech, the stock market benchmark Sensex today erased all its early gains of over 300 points and slipped into negative territory.

The BSE Sensex was down nearly 20 points at around 1155 hours, before regaining some lost ground and was trading nearly flat at 1200 hours.

Among others, stocks like Tata Power, Coal India, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, NTPC and Reliance Industries were in the red. However, Tata Steel, HDFC, GAIL and SBI shares were up.
