New Delhi: Gold prices rose 0.41 percent to Rs 28,230 per 10 grams in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October rose by Rs 116, or 0.41 percent, to Rs 28,230 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 604 lots.
Similarly, the yellow metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 116, or 0.41 percent, to Rs 28,195 per 10 grams in 9 lots.
Analysts said a firming trend in the global markets supported the upside in gold prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile in Singapore, gold rose to USD 1,290.22 an ounce from USD 1,288.78 yesterday.
