Gold price ends flat on scattered support; silver recovers

Gold prices remained steady on Thursday at Rs 27,650 per 10 grams at the bullion market on scattered buying from jewellers even as the precious metal strengthened overseas.

New Delhi: Gold prices remained steady Thursday at Rs 27,650 per 10 grams at the bullion market on scattered buying from jewellers even as the precious metal strengthened overseas.

However, silver found fresh buying from industrial units and recovered by Rs 255 to Rs 39,355 per kg.

Traders said restricted buying by jewellers helped gold prices to remain steady.

Globally, gold traded a shade higher at USD 1,210.15 an ounce and silver climbed 0.4 percent to USD 17.18 an ounce in Singapore.

In the national capital, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 percent purity ruled steady at Rs 27,650 and Rs 27,500 per 10 grams, respectively.

The Sovereign followed suit and ended flat at Rs 23,800 per piece of eight grams.

On the other hand, silver ready recovered by Rs 255 to Rs 39,355 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 210 to Rs 39,200 per kg.

Meanwhile, silver coins continued to be traded at at Rs 58,000 for buying and Rs 59,000 for selling of 100 pieces.
