Xiaomi products now available on Amazon and Snapdeal

From Wednesday, 8 April, Chinese handset maker Xiaomi is no more exclusive to Flipkart as the company has started selling its products on other eCommerce sites, Snapdeal and Amazon.

New Delhi: From Wednesday, 8 April, Chinese handset maker Xiaomi is no more exclusive to Flipkart as the company has started selling its products on other eCommerce sites, Snapdeal and Amazon.

On the occasion of the 5th birthday of the company (8 April), Xiaomi said it was bringing in more products in the country and would be available on major online retail sites.

The company first launched its product in India in July of 2014 and has been selling its products through Flipkart.

However, on Tuesday, the companny announced on its official Facebook page that Mi products would not be exclusive to Flipkart.

"Starting tomorrow, 8 April, we're adding two more partner channels that you can purchase from Snapdeal and Amazon India," Xiaomi said in a post on its official Facebook page yesterday.

"This means you can now purchase your favourite Mi products from Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India online, and The Mobile Store and Airtel if you prefer to buy in stores," it added.

Founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Lei Jun, Xiaomi is often referred to as the 'Apple of China'.

According to research firm IDC, Xiaomi's global market share of smartphone shipments in October-December 2014 stood at 4.42 percent, while the firm a share of 4 percent in India and 13.7 percent in China during the same period.
