New Delhi: Google is planning to reboot its Android One smartphone in India and is likely to launch them in the sub-Rs 3000 segment.

In September last year, Google had launched their Android One smartphones in collaboration with Micromax, Spice and Karbonn. However, despite pricing them in the sub-Rs 6,500 segment and much excitement, it failed to live up to its expectations.

According to various reports, the tech giant is planning to rework on the smartphones and launch them in India.

In an interview with the The Financial Times, Rajan Anandan, Google Managing Director, India and Southeast Asia, said the company was “very committed” to the project and that the company was targeting the "sweet spot" Indian smartphone market.

He also said Google planes to launch smartphones that costs between Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3,000.
