Lenovo extends Android 4.4 KitKat to Vibe X, Z smartphones

Chinese PC gaint Lenovo is upgrading its Vibe X and Z smartphones to Android 4.4 KitKat. The update will be available in India by the last week of May this year.

New Delhi: Chinese PC gaint Lenovo is upgrading its Vibe X and Z smartphones to Android 4.4 KitKat. The update will be available in India by the last week of May this year.

The update will bring improvements like bug fixes, increased security and make more applications compatible on the device.

Lenovo Vibe X was launched in the market at Rs 25,999 and came with 4.2 Jelly Bean. The company has also slashed the prices while confirming its Android 4.4 KitKat update. Vibe X with 4.4 KitKat will now be available in the market at Rs 22,999.

After the Android 4.4 KitKat update, Vibe Z users will have better management of the multi-window mode allowing use of two applications simultaneously and resize them on the screen, enhanced notification access, wireless printing capability, new theme centre, automatic profile changer.

Vibe X houses 5 inch display screen, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel rare camera and 5-megapixel front camera. WhileVibe Z houses 5.5 inch display screen, 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel rare camera and 5-megapixel front camera.

Lenovo has not yet announced Android 4.4 KitKat update for any other smartphone. Only Vibe X and Z will undergo an upgrade.
