LG announces mid-range smartphone G3 Beat

G3 Beat will be launched in South Korea on Friday and the global roll-out of the handset will begin with Europe and Commonwealth countries in the coming weeks.

New Delhi: South Korean company LG has announced its new handset- LG G3 Beat, which is a smaller version of the LG G3.

G3 Beat will be launched in South Korea on Friday and the global roll-out of the handset will begin with Europe and Commonwealth countries in the coming weeks.

Although, the company's flagship smartphone G3 will be launched in India on July 21. G3 is aimed for customers for low-mid segment buyers and who want an affordable smartphone.

LG G3 Beat features a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. The phone also packs 8MP rear camera with Laser Auto Focus, 1.3MP front camera. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat

LG has also included 4G LTE support, 2540 mAh battery, the usual set of connectivity options on the G3.
The smartphone will also have Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+ and gesture shot. The price of the phone is still unknown and the company might leave it up to local markets to make that announcement.

Connectivity options for the phone includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Micro-USB, 3G and 4G LTE support. The phone measures 137.7x69.6x10.3mm and weighs 134 grams. It is available in Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold colour variants.
