Microsoft announces launch of Nokia 130 phone

The company hasn't formally announced the price for the Indian market yet, but said that Nokia 130 will cost 19 euros.

New Delhi: Microsoft has announced the launch of its no-frills handset Nokia 130 and 130 dual-SIM phone. The company has not revealed the exact dates for the launch though.

The phones are old school mobile phones with basic smartphone features such as music and video. The phone aims to target first-time buyers in the emerging markets.

The company hasn't formally announced the price for the Indian market yet, but said that Nokia 130 will cost 19 euros.

The phone will sport a 1.8 inch coloured screen with nine-button keypad and soft keys in the middle. Powered by Series 30+ software, the 130 has a microSD slot for up to 32GB of MP3s or video.

The main attractive feature of the phone is the battery back up. The Nokia 130 is available in both single and dual SIM offering standby times of up to 36 days and 26 days respectively. Both versions claim to offer talk time of up to 13 hours.

This phone is the first launch since Microsoft bought the Finnish handset maker- Nokia.

Microsoft said the phone will be launched in selective countries such as India, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam.
