New Delhi: Want to upgrade your Motorola DEFY to enjoy the goodness of Ice Cream Sandwich? Help is at hand as the first experimental CyanogenMOD 9 port for Defy is out on XDA developer’s forum for download.

As it is still in experimental stage, bugs are still in command in certain parts of the phone. Also, there are certain fixes that are still to be fixed.

But now that the port has been made available, it surely would be a matter of time before the phone becomes fully functional.

Moreover, the experimental build is not for everyone and only “advanced” users should try it as the bugs can be dangerous if one doesn’t know how to keep them in check.

For installing the port, one would need flash CM7.1 stable ROM or nightly and then boot in recovery to flash the ICS build.

At the current level, the Camera and Charge only Mode is not working while other important functions like  Touchscreen, USB, Wi-Fi, Hardware

Acceleration, 2D and 3D, Video Playback, GPS seem to be on the go..
