Nokia Lumia hits Indian market at Rs 18,999

Nokia has launched its first Windows Phones, the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in India on Friday, at RS. 29,999 and Rs. 18,999 respectively.

Chennai: Nokia has launched its first Windows Phones, the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in India on Friday, at RS. 29,999 and Rs. 18,999 respectively.

The devices will be available in metro cities right away, and will make it to more than 100 other cities within the next few days.

The two devices, Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, unveiled last month are the first devices from the handset major's partnership with software major Microsoft.
    
Asked about the company's target customers for their new smartphone series Lumia, Mehrotra said, "I cannot give you specific numbers, but (the figure) is significant."
    
The Nokia Lumia 800 is a high-end device that comes with a 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, and has 16 GB internal user memory and 512 MB programme memory.

A master-stroke by Nokia, to capture the smartphone segment, Lumia 800 is available
in three colours – Black, Fuschia and Cyan. While the Black unit dons
the professional look, the Fushcia and Cyan units are visibly quite
younger and more playful.

 

What makes the device more appealing is its 3.7-inch glass display which
has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass and makes it scratch-resistant.

Powered by a 1.4GHz Scorpion processor and running the Windows Phone
Mango (7.5) OS, the Lumia 800 is a seriously speedy handset.

The Lumia 710, has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 8 GB storage capacity with 512 MB RAM and comes with exchangeable back covers.

Both touchscreen devices run on Windows Phone 7.5 'Mango Operating System'.
