Chinese smartphone maker Oppo's slimmest smartphone—Oppo R5—was made available in India last month amid a lot of anticipation for being world's slimmest phone.
Oppo R5 was globally launched in October 2014 and was launched in India in the end of the year.
Oppo R5 comes with 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It measures 148.9 x 74.5 x 4.85 mm and weighs 155 grams. It is powered by octa core processor and is paired with 2 GB RAM. Internal storage is 16 GB and it features 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera.
The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system base Color OS 2.0.1. Connectivity options include WiFi, EDGE, Bluetooth and micro USB. Battery under the hood is 2000 mAh and it features VOOC charging technology. The R5 does not have a 3.5mm audio jack.
We got our hands on the phone and came up with a mixed kind of reaction after holding it. Oppo R5 is sleek and efficient but it is not a power usage smartphone.
What we liked about the phone was its ultra slim form factor and design. It has a good front facing camera.
However we didn’t like its battery capacity. The phone's disappointing battery life is a dampener. While on the storage side too the phone lacks power. It has a very limited internal storage
