World's first 360-degree live smartphone VR camera unveiled

New York: You may not require costly equipment to shoot a video in 360-degree as the world`s first 360-degree live virtual reality (VR) streaming camera for smartphones is here.

Taiwanese computer hardware company Quanta Computer and Canadian video production service ImmerVision on Tuesday announced the 360-degree live VR streaming camera at the "Computex 2016" trade show in Taipei.

The camera fits in the palm and can be attached magnetically to any smartphone.

It comes with a 360X187 degree lens and uses a Sony Exmor-HDR imaging sensor to produce 16MP panoramic images, Forbes reported.

The device also includes a microphone and a USB port and will allow live streaming of panoramic video via Wi-Fi or saving directly to its built-in storage.

The camera can also operate in stand-alone mode and can be attached to objects like clothes, vehicles or drones.
