New Delhi: Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi's yet another entry-level smartphone-- the Redmi 1S-- that the company launched last month has created a lot of hysteria among gadget lovers.

Followed by the blockbuster sale of its previous phone Xiaomi Mi3, the new phone from Xiaomi has also created similar craze .

The frenzy over the phone can be gauged by the fact that the sale of Redmi 1S which opened on e-commerce site Flipkart last week, lasted for a fraction of seconds.

The company had put 40,000 units for sale, while the company had received around 1 lakh registrations for the smartphone.

Let's have a look at five interesting features of the phone.

Display

Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display. With screen resolution of 1280x720 the phone has 312 pixel per inch display. The phone also features In-Plane Switching technology which means that you can view impressive colours from all angles.

The phone is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with Cortex-A7 core. With its Adreno 305 Image Processor Xiaomi Redmi 1S makes 3D gaming experience very enjoyable.

Camera

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S sports an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera. The phone has a f/2.2 aperture for soft, blurry pictures.

Storage and battery

The dual SIM Redmi 1S comes with a WCDMA slot for 3G data and a GSM slot for 2G data. The phone has a 2000mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and comes with 1GB of RAM. The internal memory is 16GB which is expandable via a microSD card to 64GB.

Price

The phone has been affordably priced making it the best in class. The Redmi 1S has been affordably priced at Rs 5,999. During its unveiling in July, the Redmi 1S was priced at Rs 6,999, the same price as Motorola's Moto E.
