New Delhi: Following the relief from the Delhi High Court, Xiaomi will once again put up its Redmi 1S smartphone for sale on December 23 via e-commerce site Flipkart.

The Delhi HC had on December 8 banned Xiami and Flipkart from importing and selling the Chinese smartphone maker's handset following a patent infringement case filed by Ericsson.

However, in an interim reprieve for the Chinese mobile phone maker, the HC on Wednesday allowed it to sell and import till February 5 handsets which have chipsets of Qualcomm Incorporated.

The interim ban on import and sale of Xiaomi devices which run on other processors or chipsets shall continue, the court clarified.

Redmi Note, one of the latest entrants of Xiaomi in India, runs on a Mediatek processor.

Following the ruling of the court, Hugo Barra, VP, Xiaomi, International, said registration would be open soon.

“We are happy to announce that the Delhi High Court today issued a ruling in our favor, allowing us to resume sales in India subject to certain terms. The good news is that Redmi 1S is coming back next week and we’ll be having our next sale on Tuesday, December 23. Registration will open shortly — keep an eye on the Mi India page for details!” Hugo Barra wrote on his Facebook account.

Following the launch of Redmi Note in India, Xiaomi had put up Redmi 1S on normal sale for sometime before the ruling of the high court.
