New Delhi: Now, Android phone users will be able to talk for free using the WhatsApp free voice calling app.

As was being earlier practiced, this time invitation by a fellow user will not be required.

A few weeks ago, the free voice calling feature was accessible to only select users on an invite basis. The invite-only basis basically meant that users would get a call through WhatsApp from someone who already has the feature updated. The feature is also restricted to Android only with and updation of 2.11.508 version to access the app.

However, this time, the user can download version 2.11.528 from the Play Store or version 2.11.531 from the WhatsApp website. After this, the voice-calling will be activated by receiving a call from someone whose voice-calling is already activated.

It is noteworthy that the free voice calling feature is available only for Android as of now and is expected to be rolled out for other OS gradually.
