New Delhi: The NDA government on Thursday reiterated that it was committed to providing housing for all by 2022.

Presenting the Union Budget 2014-15, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced an extension of additional tax incentive on home loans in a bid to encourage people, especially the young, to own houses.

Further, a Mission on Low Cost Affordable Housing will be started and the same will be anchored in the National Housing Bank.

The FM has allocated a sum of Rs 4,000 crore in the current fiscal for National Housing Bank with a view to increase the flow of cheaper credit for affordable housing to the urban poor/EWS/LIG segment.

Further, slum development has been incorporated in the list of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities so that the private sector is encouraged to contribute more towards this activity.
