Modi govt earmarks funds for power, water reforms in Delhi

The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled its vision of transforming the national capital Delhi into a world-class city.

New Delhi: The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled its vision of transforming the national capital Delhi into a world-class city.

Unveiling the Budget 2014-15, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley proposed Rs 200 crore for power reforms and Rs 500 crore for water reforms for Delhi.

According to the Finance Minister, Rs 50 crore has been earmarked to solve the long-term water supply issues in Delhi. For that construction of long-pending Renuka Dam would be taken up on priority, the minister added.
