Special Economic Zones will be strengthened: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday said the government is committed to revive the Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

While presenting the General Budget 2014-15 in Parliament, Jaitley added the government is committed to make SEZs effective instruments of industrial production, economic growth, export promotion and employment generation.

The Finance Minister also vowed to undertake effective steps to operationalise SEZs to revive investors’ interest to develop better infrastructure and to effectively and efficiently use the available unutilised land.
