New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday directed advocate Prashant Bhushan to reveal the source of information regarding the visitors at CBI director Ranjit Sinha's residence.

SC also directed Bhushan to give the name of whistle-blower in a sealed envelope.

Ranjit Sinha, meanwhile, has also questioned the very existence of the diary and authenticity of its contents before the Supreme Court. Sinha also said that 90 percent of the entries in the register were forged but some entries could be genuine.

CBI chief Ranjit Sinha has been accused of meeting persons linked to sensitive cases like the 2G and coal block scams at his official residence by noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan.

The apex court also directed the Registrar Office to keep all documents and affidavits filed by the CBI chief in sealed cover and deposit it with Secretary General for safe custody.

An NGO, the Centre for Public Interest Litigation, has accused Sinha of irregularities in the 2G scam probe and produced a record of visitors at his residence. indicating that some of the scam-accused called on the CBI chief.

Sinha last week filed two affidavits before the court - one in the sealed cover - refuting all the allegations, and the other questioning the petitioner.

The SC has posted the matter for further hearing on September 22.
