New Delhi: Accenture India Health and Public services division head Nilay Verma has quit the firm along with about 10 senior level executives from the division, sources say.
Verma, who joined the US-based consulting major's India operations three and a half years back, is tipped to join consulting firm KPMG. Prior to Accenture where he worked as Managing Director Health and Public Services for India, he worked as a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in India.
Reacting to the development, Accenture said it is well equipped and fully committed to continue supporting existing public service and government clients in India.
Accenture's Health and Public Services division has been involved in important government projects like in skill development with the National Skill Development Corporation.
Besides, the division is also associated with e-District project, which aims to enhance the efficiency of various government departments at district level to enable seamless service delivery for the citizens.
Verma confirmed the development to PTI, but declined to provide details about his destination.
However, sources in know of the development said Verma is likely to join KPMG along with about 10 senior level executives.
The division has a strength of around 50 people.
When contacted, an Accenture spokesperson said changes in personnel are a regular occurrence in large, global technology companies.
"Accenture is well equipped and fully committed to continue supporting existing public service and government clients in India, as well as enable new clients become high performance companies. We do not discuss individual HR matters in the media," the spokesperson added.
Accenture has been operating in India since 1987 and serves over 500 global clients, including Fortune 1000 firms through operations in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Accenture India employs over 60,000 people with over 30 per cent workforce being women.
