New Delhi: Dave Thomas has been appointed as the new managing director of adidas group India.
Thomas succeeds Erick Haskell who has decided to leave the German sportswear brand to take-on a new career opportunity.
Dave will report directly to Osman Ayaz, Managing Director of the Emerging Markets adidas Group, the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the appointment, Ayaz said: "Dave's rich experience and in-depth understanding of the sport performance and sport style markets, positions him well to lead the responsibilities for India as we look forward to continue the winning performance of both our brands adidas and Reebok.
He further said: "Dave has proven his leadership skills in successfully sharpening the brand positioning and strengthening the connection to consumers and athletes in emerging markets."
Dave has worked for adidas in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan.
Since January 2014, Dave has been the Brand Director for adidas Emerging Markets, based in Dubai, where he has been driving the adidas brand and business in Africa, the Middle East and Turkey, the company said.
