Avijit Ghosh ceases to be Director in Hindustan Copper

Ghosh has been in the post since June 1, 2010.

New Delhi: State-run Hindustan Copper Ltd Tuesday said its Director (Mining) Avijit Ghosh has ceased to be a Director in the company following his appointment as the CMD of another PSU Heavy Engineering Corporation.

"Avijit Ghosh ceased to Director (Mining) of the company at the close of working hours on December 31, 2014 consequent upon his appointment as Chairman & Managing Director of Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd," the Kolkata-based copper maker said in a BSE filing.

Ghosh has been in the post since June 1, 2010.

HCL manufactures copper right from the stage of mining to beneficiation, smelting and refining. It is also engaged in casting of refined copper metal into downstream saleable products.

The company has mines and plants are spread across four states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.

Headquartered in Ranchi, Heavy Engineering Corporation manufactures and supplies capital equipments and machineries and renders project execution required for core sector industries.
