Bajaj Electricals Q4 profit at Rs 46.89 crore

Shares of Bajaj Electricals were trading higher 2.98 percent at Rs 271.65 on BSE during afternoon trade.

New Delhi: Bajaj Electricals on Thursday reported a net profit of Rs 46.89 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 10.65 crore for the January-March quarter of the previous fiscal, Bajaj Electricals said in a filing to the BSE.

Bajaj Electricals' net sales were Rs 1,301.46 crore during the quarter under review, up 3.07 percent, as against Rs 1,262.64 crore in the same period of 2013-14.

The company said revenues from the lighting business declined by 8.60 percent to Rs 271.89 crore during the period under review as against Rs 297.48 crore in the year-ago period.

Sales from consumer durables segment was up marginally to 2.47 percent to Rs 546.15 crore as against Rs 532.97 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Revenues from engineering and projects segment were up 12.09 percent to Rs 493.55 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 440.28 crore in the year-ago period.

During 2014-15 fiscal, Bajaj Electricals' net loss widened to Rs 13.95 crore from a net loss of Rs 5.31 crore in the year-ago period.

However, net sales during fiscal 2014-15 were at Rs 4,237.48 crore, up 5.61 percent, against Rs 4,012.10 crore a year ago.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing, Bajaj Electricals informed that its board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 1.50 per share on 10,07,62,426 equity shares of Rs 2 each for FY 2014-15.
