DS Group eyes Rs 600-cr revenue from Catch spices this fiscal

The Noida-based company sells a wide range of spices and seasonings under the Catch spices brand, which posted revenues of Rs 400 crore in the last financial year.

New Delhi: Diversified firm Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) expects 50 percent rise in its revenues from Catch spices at Rs 600 crore in the ongoing fiscal as the company plans to consolidate its distribution network across the country.

The Noida-based company sells a wide range of spices and seasonings under the Catch spices brand, which posted revenues of Rs 400 crore in the last financial year.

"We have been growing around 30 percent year-on-year for the last three years. Last year, we posted revenues of Rs 400 crore and this year we are optimistic of achieving revenues of around Rs 600 crore," O P Khanduja, Associate Business Head, DS Spiceco, told PTI.

The company, which has around 1,600 distributors for Catch brand across the country, plans to get into small sachets of its products in order to expand its reach.

"We are getting into sachets for Catch spices. We already have around 50 distributors for selling these sachets in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. We plan to scale up the number to around 200 distributors across the country," Khanduja said.

Besides, the company plans to strengthen the existing distribution network, he added,
The Catch brand of products are currently sold through a network of 2 lakh outlets and the company plans to add another 50,000 outlets, Khanduja said.

"We are ready to get into the next level," he added.

Catch pepper and salt marked its debut in the rotatory table top dispenser category in 1987 and remains the leader in this segment even now.

DS Group, which has presence in various sectors including FMCG, hospitality, packaging and infrastructure, has a turnover of over Rs 6,500 crore.
