New Delhi: Vedanta Group firm Hindustan Zinc Monday reported a 6.2 percent growth in its net profit at Rs 1,997 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,881 core in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
Revenue grew by 13.5 percent to Rs 4,073 crore in the last quarter of 2014-15 fiscal from Rs 3,588 crore in the same quarter of 2013-14.
Commenting on the performance, Hindustan Zinc Chairman Agnivesh Agarwal said: "In our golden jubilee year we have delivered the best ever performance."
The company's mined metal production during the year stood at 8.87 lakh tonnes.
For the entire 2014-15 fiscal, the firm reported a 17.8 percent jump in its net profit at Rs 8,178 crore compared to Rs 6,904 crore in 2013-14.
Revenue rose by 8.4 percent to Rs 14,588 crore from Rs 13,458 crore during the same period.
Shares of the company today closed Rs 170.40 apiece on the BSE, down 0.99 percent from the previous close.
