IndiGo hits up airfare war with ticket rates starting from Rs 1499

Taking on SpiceJet's 'Special Valentine' offer of Rs 1599 for its airfares, budget carrier IndiGo has announced tickets starting from as low as Rs 1499, inclusive of all fares.

New Delhi: Taking on SpiceJet's 'Special Valentine' offer of Rs 1599 for its airfares, budget carrier IndiGo has announced tickets starting from as low as Rs 1499, inclusive of all fares.

Over the past few weeks, airlines have come up with a series of low fare offers while taking advantage of Valentine's Day or trying to attract more customers during the lean period.

Offer under IndiGo airlines are available on selected routes while the offer is valid for 90-days advance booking.

Some of the selected routes from Delhi include Jaipur, Guwahati, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, etc.

On the contrary, SpiceJet offer was for bookings till February 6 and was valid for flights between February 14 to April 15, 2005.

With a number of new flights taking to the skies, competition has become tougher for the airlines.

Vistara and Air Asia, which are new members to the Indian domestic aviation family, have also added to the competition with their special offer of airfares.

Besides, the months from January to May being a lean season, airlines are taking it as an opportuinyy to draw customers through low fares.
