New Delhi: Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal on Wednesday said that Jet Airways' partnership with Etihad Airways signifies India's rapport with Abu Dhabi.
Naresh Goyal-led Jet Airways held its first joint-meet with UAE-based Etihad Airways on Wednesday.
Speaking at the conference, Naresh Goyal, said, “The airline has established vibrant new landscape with the Jet- Etihad alliance.” He also said the airline will look to operate non-stop flights to Europe, China and Australia. Jet Airways will also roll out new non-stop flights to Middle East, Saarc countries and the South East Asia.
The ongoing foreign exchange volatility had also impacted the company's bottomline. The company's chairman further added, “High tax on ATF continues to hurt airlines.”
Mumbai and Delhi will remain hub for the company in going forward, Goyal said.
Meanwhile, Jet Airways had posted a net loss of Rs 2,153 crore for the March quarter. This was the fifth straight quarterly loss for the airline.
Etihad Airways has a 24 percent minority stake in Jet Airways Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE was founded in 2003 and Jet Airways was founded in 1992. Jet has already leased out some of its aircraft--Airbus 330-200s and Boeing 777-300ERs-- to Etihad.
