MFCS to expand its workshop network to 600 by 2018

Company CEO Y V S Vijay Kumar, who inaugurated four FOFOs, taking the all India network to 41, told reporters here that they intend to close this fiscal with 100 plus FOFO workshops.

Coimbatore: Mahindra First Choice Services, a leading chain of multi-brand car workshops, plans to expand its workshop network to 600, mostly Franchisee Owned Franchisee Operated (FOFO) nationwide by 2018, a top company official said on Friday.

Company CEO Y V S Vijay Kumar, who inaugurated four FOFOs, taking the all India network to 41, told reporters here that they intend to close this fiscal with 100 plus FOFO workshops, including 30 in Tamil Nadu.

Claiming that the company was growing 150 per cent Year on Year and would continue to sustain the growth, he said 75 to 80 per cent of the workshops will be in Tier C and D cities to enable them reach a greater number of potential customers.

Considering the huge potential for aftermarket business in the four wheeler segment, as the service and spare market size touching Rs.15,000 crore, covered by 50 per cent dealers and remaining roadside garages, MFCS offered a simplified business model in multi-brand car servicing with robust supply chain for spare parts through its cluster warehouse, he said.

The success of the workshops was that spare parts are supplied as per daily requirements of FOFOs or Company Owned Company Operated workshops, which reduced the need to maintain huge inventories at workshops--instead of three to nine months to only 10 to 15 days inventories, Vijay Kumar said.

Vijayakumjar inaugurated FOFOs in the city,Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur and Ambur in Tamil Nadu today.
