Punj Lloyd posts net loss of Rs 148 crore in Q3

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, Punj Lloyd said in a statement.

New Delhi: Engineering and construction major Punj Lloyd on Friday reported a net loss of Rs 148 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, Punj Lloyd said in a statement.

Total income of the company decreased to Rs 1,418.72 crore from Rs 2038 crore, in the same period, last fiscal.

"The spate of initiatives taken by the new government have raised industry sentiments and I am confident that with the effective implementation of new orders and the increased opportunities for EPC players, business prospects are bright," said Punj Lloyd Group, Chairman, Atul Punj.

The group's order backlog stands at Rs 23,181 crore. The order backlog is the value of unexecuted orders on December 31, 2014 plus new orders received after that date, the company said in a statement.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 34.35, down 3.10 per cent on the BSE.
