Reliance Life to add 20,000 agents in next fiscal

Reliance Life Insurance will add 20,000 agents during the next financial year, a company official said today.

Hyderabad: Reliance Life Insurance will add 20,000 agents during the next financial year, a company official said today.

"We have 1 lakh agents as of now...There will be net addition of 20,000 agents during the next fiscal," Reliance Life Insurance Chief Agency Officer Manoranjan Sahoo told reporters here.

To a query, he said the private life insurer's new business premium for 2014 stood at Rs 1,000 crore. "We are growing at around 10 percent."

Earlier, Sahoo announced opening of a library at Government Primary School in Akaram village of Nalgonda district in Telangana under partnership with global NGO 'Room to Read'.

The partnership between Reliance Life and Room to Read aims to set up over 100 libraries in Government primary schools and reach out to over 10,000 children across the country. "So far, eight libraries have been set up across the country," Sahoo said.

The venture, part of Reliance Life's Corporate Social Responsibility endeavour, will support more schools with such libraries in the coming years, he added.
