SC quashes criminal complaint against Tata Steel ex joint MD J J Irani

J J Irani stepped down on turning 75, from the company's board in 2011.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday quashed criminal complaint against the then Tata Steel
Joint MD J J Irani in a 1989 fire case in which 60 persons were killed.

Fire had broken out in roof of the gallery that seated the VIP invitees. The company officials had assembled along with their families to celebrate Founder’s day.

Credited with turning around Tata Steel in the 1990s, J J Irani stepped down on turning 75, from the company's board in 2011.
